School & Library Program for K-6 |
||
Learn about geography and where our planets desert, grassland, mountain and rain forest habitats are. Where is there a desert that has never received a recorded rainfall and a mountain range that is still growing every year? Discover which animals are endangered and which are growing in numbers. The Habitats of the World Workshop includes a school assembly with slides shows including a photo trip down the Amazon River, followed by individual classroom visits where each child will learn to draw a habitat full of plants and animals. This workshop is designed to enhance understanding of world geography, habitats and animal and plant natural history. One school visit can accommodate two slide shows and three classroom visits. The workshop also includes a book sale and signing offering several of the authors books at special educational prices. Adirondack Habitat Program also available. *Cost for 2 - 4 assemblies and/or classroom visits and author book signing is $500 per day plus travel expenses. |
